Liveness & Readiness Probes

Difficulty: Intermediate

Question

Explain Liveness, Readiness, and Startup probes.

Answer

1. **Liveness Probe**: Determines if a container is running. If it fails, Kubernetes kills the container and restarts it. 2. **Readiness Probe**: Determines if a container is ready to accept traffic. If it fails, the Pod is removed from Service endpoints. 3. **Startup Probe**: Used for slow-starting applications. It disables liveness/readiness checks until it succeeds.
